BH Cosmetics 88 Cool Shimmer Palette

Hey Everybody!

Today I decided to crack open my 88 Cool Shimmer Palette that I purchased from BH Cosmetics. I also own their 120 Color Palette First Edition that I purchased a couple of years ago, which contains a combination of both matte and shimmer eyeshadows. I'm a girl that definitely loves her shimmer and sparkle! So when I had the opportunity to try out the small number of shimmer eyeshadows in the 120 palette, I was convinced that I needed to purchase a full shimmer palette, and when Black Friday rolled around, well...45% off of palettes was a savings that I couldn't resist! Their fake lashes were also about 35% off, so I tossed a pair of those into my order as well.

Alright, onto the pictures!

My BH Cosmetics package! I always love a huge FRAGILE sticker on my makeup packages, even though they are usually well packed to prevent damage.

As I mentioned, usually well packed to prevent damage :-). The palette was thoroughly wrapped in more packaging under this layer of paper, and stuffed with more paper underneath that.

The contents! The 88 Cool Shimmer palette, Glam fake eyelashes, the packaging slip, and a holiday card.

The palette, still in its cover, front view.

Back view.

The palette out of its cover.

The palette comes with a protective plastic cover over the shadows, a mirror, and 2 sponge applicators. I'm not personally a fan of these applicators (I prefer brushes), but I guess it's better than nothing! :-)

The colors! Picture taken with flash.

Each eyeshadow is about the size of a dime.

Just a few quick swatches :-). No primer or base.

As far as swatches go, I did begin to swatch all of the colors in the palette (with and without a base), but I was running out of natural lighting and didn't want to post pictures that couldn't do the colors justice. So I ended up just swatching a few of the colors so that you can get an idea of the lovely shades that this palette has to offer! Maybe I'll be able to upload swatches of all colors in a future post :-).

Oh! Can't forget the lashes!

Directions for use on the back of the lash package.

I've never tried false lashes from BH Cosmetics, so I figured I would give them a go! I haven't had a chance to use them yet, but when I do I'll let you all know how they are!

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this palette! The colors are beautiful, the pigmentation is pretty good, and the texture of the shadows is very nice (some better than others). You can purchase this palette from BHcosmetics. If you are interested in purchasing this palette, I recommend keeping an eye on the website. They have sales all the time, so you can usually get a pretty decent deal!

Thanks for reading!
